Wal*Mart
Once again, I'm working for old uncle Sam. Well, it's a different uncle Sam. My stint with the Spokane County Park Service came to a close at the end of the season and I began a new career with Sam Walton's little chain of stores. Yep, that's right, the store that's taking over the world: Wal*Mart. I started as a 3rd shift instock worker. My thought was that I could work all night and have the daylight to paint in. A good theory, maybe, but it hasn't exactly worked out that way. It's not a bad job and it will have benefits before too long.
I work with a bunch of decent people ... and a few who are, frankly, indecent (you know who you are!). I've been able to get some print-making done while not at work but not a whole lot of painting. I'm still struggling with a decent sleep pattern of any sort. Like always, though, art is always a part of what I do, and I do find time to sketch during breaks. Here are sketches of some of the people with whom I work.
